You can pick up free camping guides at visitor info centers all over Canada. All Frontcountry campgrounds are easy accessible by vehicle.The most common facilities at these campgrounds are washrooms, showers, picnic tables, firewood, fire pits and disposal sites. At some sites you can do laundry. They might have a small store or other place to buy groceries.   • Backcountry campsites – Backcountry campsites are very basic. You can walk-in/paddle-in into these more basic campsites. Normally there is one or more flat areas for tenting. Usually there is an outhouse and a bear cache. There is usually a creek or a lake nearby.

    • Free campsites – These are at Recreation campsites in British Columbia Canada. Such sites allow you to escape to remote and beautiful Canadian destinations, free of crowds. These free campsites are offered at many of British Columbia’s recreation sites. The majority of the locations are away from the highway, near rivers, lakes and trails. Canada has some of the best camping in the world. There is a huge variety of landscapes in the country. These destinations make a great getaway, romantic or otherwise. They are perfect for solo travel and families alike.

Most parks require reservations and prices vary depending on the province and what accommodations you choose. Not all parks are open year-round for overnight camping. Be sure to check ahead of time to ensure you’re following the rules shown on their websites. Be sure that you’re prepared for camping with the right gear and clothing. This is critical if you’re planning on backcountry camping. For that you need to rely on your own gear and skills.

Parc National Forillon in Quebec

Along the coastline you can search for whales while other visitors explore under the water scuba diving and snorkeling. Campsites are available ranging from full service to primitive backcountry sites. Parc National Forillon also offers a contemporary 2-person tiny cabin.

Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario

Algonquin Provincial Park is a 7,653 square kilometer park of rocky ridges and peaceful lakes. It is Located about 300 km (186 mi) north of Toronto. You can set up at one of few frontcountry campgrounds.

They have amenities like flush toilets and hot showers. Alternatively you can head into a wilderness or backcountry camp. You’ll need a backpack or canoe/kayak. That’s the only way to explore the interior of the park. There are many waterfront sites on the thousands of lakes in the park. Some are so remote they can only be reached by canoe or kayak.

Banff National Park in Alberta

A beautiful and popular park, there’s plenty to discover there. You can experience breathtaking mountain scenery and hike Rocky Mountain peaks and glaciers.

Like swimming? Then swim in turquoise glacial lakes and streams. There’s also a natural hot spring there. Many hikers soak there after a long hike. There are trails through Banff National Park, Canada’s first national park.

This park is the flagship for the Park system. The park is large. There are over a dozen campgrounds for camping and RVs. Some offer amenities, others don’t. They are primitive and are for the more adventurous backcountry campers.

Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan

Situated where Evergreen Forests start, the park offers a wide range of experiences. You can spot black bear, elk, bison, and wolves. You can hike through Boreal-like Forests.

This park offers both wilderness and accessibility. There are over a dozen primitive background campsites. These are not accessible by vehicle.

You’ll find two full service campgrounds with parking. romantic getawayFor those not wanting to rough it too much, for example if you’re looking for a romantic getaway in Saskatchewan, the town of Waskesiu, the lakeside town right close is an option. That’s if you’re looking for a bit of camping but less primitive accommodations for your romantic adventure.

Hikers can walk under the canopy of old growth forests situated The park is close to the world-famous Cabot Trail Highway.

It is a great hiking place. The park has six front country campgrounds for those staying in tents and RV owners. This includes nine fully accessible campsites plus one backcountry campground. You can hike in the forests. See the Atlantic Ocean as the sun rises or sets in the evening.

Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland

Looking to slow down? Gros Morne National Park is a Canadian national park and world heritage site. This East Coast park is a place for people wanting to relax, take it easy.

You can watch the fog come in from the Atlantic Ocean. This park is old. So expect to feel like you’ve stepped back in time. You can hike the Tablelands. That’s a reddish landscape of the earth’s exposed mantle. If you want to challenge yourself, climb one of the peaks in the Long Range Mountains. There you’ll spot moose and caribou grazing. Want to see eagles? You just might spot one or two flying overhead. At the park there are five campgrounds with 236 drive-in and 4 walk-in campsites for visitors. There are also some as rustic cabins. This could be a perfect place for romantic couples to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Pacific Rim National Park in British Columbia

Campers who love beaches and surfing will love this park with its 10 miles of beaches. Here is a park to play and rest. The park has pools of water where birds and aquatic wildlife live. Once in a while you can spot whales who frequently swim by.

There are temperate rainforests near the coast. There you will find trails perfect for those in search of peace and quiet on Vancouver Island’s western shore. The park has giant old trees. So you know the trees are many times your age, whatever it may be. Pacific Rim has a hundred campsites to serve motorists and hikers throughout the park. Most campsites offer amenities like showers and flush toilets.
