To get to the campground, you’ll need to hike 10 miles in. But if you have older kids, this would make a great camping place.
Havasupai campgrounds are the perfect place for you if you love being in the waters. There’s a small fee to pay, but it’ll be worth every penny. You might have trouble trying to get a reservation.
Every year, they only let a specific number of people, and permits sell out fast. So, if you want to get one, you’ll need to be fast to get those permits as soon as bookings start.
3. Gilbert Ray Campground, Tucson
Gilbert Ray Campground will give you the feel of wilderness camping. This campground has 130 well-spaced sites with electricity and water. Located far from any roads, this campground is peaceful and scenic. With views to the west across the plains and east towards the mountain range that hides Tucson.
The campground is also convenient for the western part of the Saguaro National Park. With the breathtaking Valley View Overlook trail, great hiking is at your doorstep.
Recommended reservations start from December to April for the peak season.
4. Buffalo Crossing Campground
For those who love to fish, Buffalo Crossing Campground is the place for you.
Situated on the banks of the Black River is where you’ll find this campground. There are 16 sites at this campground that can accommodate up to 32′ long RVs.
This is the largest campsite on the Black River. Thus, this place provides ample space for families and larger groups. There is a charge for camping at the Buffalo Crossing campground. But reservations are not necessary.

5. Meteor Crater RV Park
If you are into Northern Arizona’s celestial beauty, Meteor Crater RV Park is the spot for you. The Meteor Crater is one of the most preserved impact craters in the world, about one mile across.
This resort is named after the crater and offers many awesome amenities. A clubhouse, shower and laundry facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, a 9-hole chip and putt course, bocce courts, and various other activities.
Moreover, Meteor Crater has 71 parking spots for RVs with all the amenities you need. Including Wi-Fi, a convenience store, and full laundry and shower facilities. Good Sam Club discounts are offered.
All the great fun of Lake Havasu is close by, such as boating, skiing, or cruising, if you manage to leave the park.
6. Black Canyon Campground
You and your family will enjoy staying at the local campground while visiting Black Canyon City. Black Canyon Campground, nestled in Arizona’s beautiful central countryside, has over 40 different campsites available for rent.
Black Canyon Campground also facilitates tent camping. This is convenient for families who want an outdoor feel, unlike most other RV campgrounds in Phoenix, Arizona.
For a fun and relaxing stay, it has everything necessary. Plus, several local attractions are a short distance away. You’ll never feel like you’re far from home since the campground has well-maintained bathrooms and showers.
7. Pine Grove Campground
Pine Grove Campground is a rare find in Flagstaff, Arizona. There are nearby lakes that can provide ample recreational activities. Upper and Lower Lake Mary, Ashurst, Marshall, and Kinnikinick are some of these lakes.
The campsites are clean and have all the pleasant facilities needed by campers. Coin-operated showers, tables, fire rings and cooking grills, and drinking water. Toilets here are in flush form, usable for disabled people, RV dump station.
